Developer Capital&Centric has received planning approval to bring a brand-new indoor padel tennis club to the Cannon Brewery in Neepsend. The site, a local landmark in the city’s brewing history, will be reimagined as a buzzing hub for sport and socialising — continuing the area’s exciting transformation.

Not the First – But a Welcome Addition
While this won’t be Sheffield’s first padel club — that title goes to the established courts at Abbeydale Tennis Club — it will be the first in or near the city centre. And with Neepsend already known for its independent spirit, creative spaces, and close ties to Kelham Island, the location couldn’t be better.

Though no official opening date has been confirmed yet, the approval marks a significant step forward in bringing this exciting project to life. Once open, the club will be operated by Club de Padel, known for its stylish, community-driven venues across the UK.
